convierte en energ\u00eda renovable. Gracias a su planta de biog\u00e1s, actualmente genera 9 megavatios (MW), suficientes para abastecer a 40.000 familias.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u26a1C\u00f3mo funciona la planta<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>La basura depositada contiene m\u00e1s del 50% de materia org\u00e1nica.<br \/>La descomposici\u00f3n genera biog\u00e1s, con metano como componente principal.<br \/>En lugar de liberarse, el biog\u00e1s se captura mediante pozos y tuber\u00edas HDPE y se conduce a la planta.<br \/>All\u00ed se trata para eliminar impurezas y se inyecta en motores de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n que producen electricidad.<br \/>Esta tecnolog\u00eda permite reducir 16.000 toneladas de metano al a\u00f1o, equivalente a 400.000 toneladas de CO\u2082, similar a las emisiones de todos los veh\u00edculos de Quito.<\/p><p><strong>Historia y ampliaci\u00f3n del proyecto<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>2012: Alianza estrat\u00e9gica EMGIRS EP \u2013 Gasgreen para captaci\u00f3n y aprovechamiento de biog\u00e1s.<\/li><li>2016: Primera fase \u2013 2 MW.<\/li><li>2017: Segunda fase \u2013 3 MW adicionales (total 5 MW).<\/li><li>2024: Ampliaci\u00f3n \u2013 nuevos generadores y capacidad total 9 MW, abasteciendo a 40.000 hogares.<br \/>Inversi\u00f3n total: USD 20 millones.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\ud83c\udf31 Beneficios ambientales<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Captura y quema controlada de metano, gas 25 veces m\u00e1s potente que el CO\u2082.<\/li><li>Reducci\u00f3n de 16.000 toneladas de metano al a\u00f1o \u2192 equivalente a 400.000 toneladas de CO\u2082.<\/li><li>Registro en la CMNUCC, permitiendo generar Certificados de Reducci\u00f3n de Emisiones (CERS).<\/li><li>Quito ha comercializado 6.580 CERS a Tropical Fruit Export y 135 CERS a Seguros Confianza S.A., siendo pionera en Ecuador.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>\ud83c\udfed Tecnolog\u00eda al servicio del medioambiente<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Los cubetos del relleno est\u00e1n sellados con cobertura de tierra natural, donde los residuos fermentan y producen biog\u00e1s.<\/li><li>El gas se transporta a la planta, se trata y se transforma en electricidad con eficiencia cercana al 40%.<\/li><li>La energ\u00eda sobrante se convierte en calor, con potencial para futuros proyectos de aprovechamiento energ\u00e9tico.<\/li><li>El Relleno Sanitario El Inga demuestra que los residuos pueden convertirse en energ\u00eda renovable y sostenible.<\/li><li>Gracias a la alianza EMGIRS-Gasgreen, Quito aprovecha un recurso que antes era un pasivo ambiental, reduciendo emisiones y contribuyendo a la lucha contra el cambio
